Today is a special day. 38 years ago Yaya's birth mother was born. To honor her we're having a small family celebration tonight for dinner. Unfortunately, the guest of honor will not be able to attend. You may ask why we would celebrate her when she's not able to be present? Because she is Always Present in our thoughts, prayers and especially when we look into our precious baby girl's eyes. She has given us the greatest gift a mother could give and YaYa deserves to know how special her birth mother is whether present or not.
A Poem of Thanks to a Birth Mother.
Once strangers, not knowing of each other,
God brought us together
To share a special bond of love
With a sweet little girl named Sarah.
You may never understand the pain
Or know the tears I cried.
My heart's desire was for a child
To nurture, love, and guide.
I may never understand the pain
Or know the tears you cried.
You said good-bye to this precious child,
Entrusting me to nurture, love, and guide.
I see your face in her pretty smile,
And love in her sparkling eyes.
She's the answer to countless prayers,
A blessing to many lives.
No longer strangers,
We share a special bond of love
With a very precious gift
From our God above.

Happy Birthday Mommy Terra!
First we said a toast to you!
Then, we ate spaghetti squash, BBQ'd hamburgers, baked beans and
Yummy Chocolate Birthday Cake!
Wherever you are today, we hope you are surrounded by love and happiness.
Love, Bird, Frizzy and YaYa
Oh and just in case our own journey to parenthood isn't proof enough that God exists, here's another beautiful story of faith and adoption.

that is really sweet, enjoy your celebration!
Oh wow... what a special thing to celebrate...
Oh wow, that's pretty cool :)
That was really nice. Most people would just like to forget about the birth mother at least on TV. Have fun and much love.
That is so beautiful....
Very nice of you to remember her special day...
You are so awesome! What a great idea!
On a side note...to respond to your comment - Scott will be in Lousianna until the 15th at the earliest. Now with Ike possibly heading into the Gulf he may be deployed down there through at least the end of the month. Only time will tell us!
When does YaYa go to bed now so I can call ya!
I think it's really neat that you celebrate her birthday.
In response to your comment - I think we'd have a lot of fun together too. :o) Too bad we live over 1500 miles apart!
This is a beautiful post! What a lovely thing to do - celebrate her birth mother's birthday! That poem is beautiful.
How very sweet... I hope you all had a very special day!
Loved the poem!
Hello! I'm late to your BATW party, and grinned at this because I read Melissa's post earlier today--I'm SO happy for her! That was too amazing. Gotta go find your Cali post.
Wow, youmade me get all choked up. That is a special thing you are doing for your baby girl.
OK, you are seriously a better person than I.
I love you.
God Bless YaYa.
Oh, I hope I could have that attitude some day! I hope that someday I can look at Baby A's mother and be so thankful of her existence.
I am learning so much from you!
Hi, your daughter is precious! I was reading the comments on Melissa's post (Stretch Marks) and saw yours. Your comment gave me chills...I have PCOS also. My husband and I have struggled with infertility for the past 7 1/2 years. Seeing & hearing about miracles like yours truly give me hope. God Bless you & your precious family! ~Britt
