A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

Project 52 Weeks 6, 7 & 8

Project 52: Week 6: Love
I have known this couple for about 12 years now.  We met while living in Italy and they have an amazing love story.  They were married only a week after meeting and have been living their happily ever after ever after.  We hadn't seen them in about three years so it was wonderful when they came to visit us over Valentine's weekend.  As with all of our guests, I couldn't wait to capture a photo of them.

Week 7: KISS
While Yaya was on winter break we enjoyed lunch out with my mom and her friend.  During lunch, the girls were all snuggly and who can pass up capturing a perfectly sweet moment like this?

Kiss continued
A little double duty here but a miracle happened that same week.  Our dog is shall we say...INSANE?!  She rarely lets the girls near her and has always been skittish with new people.  Yaya has been so patient working with Ellie trying to win over her trust and affections.  This particular day was their special day to become friends.  I'm not sure who was more shocked Yaya, the dog or me but we're thrilled it happened and I hope Ellie will continue to see Yaya as her friend.

Week 8: Hug

As "huggers" go, I think my girls are THE BEST HUGGERS AROUND.  They are always hugging something or someone so these shots with their favorite animals are priceless.

Project 52: Week 1: New

Project 52: Week 1:  New
Who doesn't love a new toy or book to explore and play with.

Week 2: A Day in the Life
I've said it before and I'll say it again.  These girls are two peas in a pod.  Plus, they love pretending to be princesses.  This is our life.

Week 3:  Sleep
Little Bird is and always will be (I hope) a snuggle bug.  She loves to nap on you.  Especially when that YOU is her nana.

 Week 4:  Laughter
This girl has the best laugh.  When she laughs it's with her entire body.

 Week 5: Shadows
This has been a horrible week for snapping pictures of shadows as we've had nothing but clouds.  Thankfully, I was able to capture this shot of a beautiful flamingo while at the zoo on Monday with my Little Bird.

In news for the week, I'm excited to be helping my mother in law on her second book. We are once again collaborating.  Her with her beautiful writing and me with my photography.
