A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

A Day On the River

While Adam and Kristin were here we found a nice little beach on the river to cool off in. The kids played in the shallow water with their shovels, buckets, fish nets and aquarium. Along the way Adam helped the kids catch a crawdad and a minnow or two.
Adam also found a nice blackberry bush and we enjoyed gobbling up a few of them.
Would you like one?
Kristin and Yaya got a wild game of beach ball started.

My mom was kind enough to contribute an ice cold watermelon and shade tent even though she didn't join in the fun. I Love these "Watermelon Faces" don't you?

For some reason this is the only shot of Siri I have from that day.
She is such a sweet young lady.
Sandy little toes.

Candid shot of the girls at play.
"I DON'T WANT TO GO HOME, I'M NOT TIRED!"
said the girl who was asleep before we could even make it onto the road.

Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. I feel much better today thanks to you.

I'm glad you're feeling better. That's what a day on the river will do!
