Anything Can Happen

You're proof positive of that my dear Yaya.

After all, you turned 4 today.

Seeing your eyes light up each day with excitement and wonder makes our hearts melt. As your parents we hope you always have that sparkle in your eye, mischief in your heart and we especially hope you continue to be fearless. Did I really just say that? UGH! Seriously though, would it be too much of us to ask you to slow down and be little for just a little while longer? You have your whole life to be "growed up" and only a few years to enjoy being a kid. We promise to do all we can to help you learn, have fun and experience what being a kid is all about. We also promise to let you be a "growed up" when it's time but be warned, by then you may wish you could be a kid again.

Yaya, not a day goes by that we don't love you so much it feels impossible to love you more. Til the next day when we do. A perfect example was the night of your ballet recital when we watched you dance to Anything Can Happen from Mary Poppins. Seeing you bravely walk on stage with your friends then hearing the crowd "ooh and ahh" over you all made us grin from ear to ear. Just when we thought it couldn't get any better than that you all started dancing. It brings happy tears to my eyes even now.

As you blow out the candles on your cake this year we'll be making our own wishes too. We'll wish that you follow your heart. We'll wish that you love yourself, life and others to the fullest. We'll wish that you always love learning about the world around you as you do now. We'll wish that your wildest dreams come true. Most of all we'll wish we get to be there to see it all. Because Mary Poppins said it best, "Anything Can Happen."
