A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

What a Little Love Can Do

You may be wondering what these two lovebirds
have been up to over the holidays. Unfortunately, due to some untimely weather, work and holiday travel plans they've been apart. That's not to say they haven't been on the phone or internet at least twice a day.
Yellow chicken couldn't believe how much he missed seeing Fuzzy Duck. He never imagined it would be so hard to be apart so early in a relationship. She had only been in his life for a short time and already he couldn't see his future without her in it. Unfortunately, the non stop snow and ice had made time together impossible. Yellow Chicken couldn't stand not knowing how long it might be until he could see her fuzzy face again. She consumed his every thought. So much so that he worried he might sound a little obsessed and crazy when he talked to his friends about her. His best friend, Sam
agreed he had never seen Yellow Chicken so happy or smitten before. Sam kept reminding Yellow Chicken to take things slow. Even with Sam's warnings, Yellow Chicken decided to take his chances and threw caution to the wind. He was tired of the dating game and all that came with it. He wanted to be real and himself for once. More important, Fuzzy Duck seemed to bring out the best in him. "Why should we wait to be happy if we could be happy right now?" he thought to himself. He loved making her happy! He loved seeing her smile, hearing her laugh and he couldn't get enough of her teasing.
He was constantly doing fun things to surprise her. In hopes of narrowing the distance between them, Yellow Chicken made Fuzzy Duck a scrapbook for Christmas. In it were pictures of places he hoped to take her some day. Here's a quick glimpse of what he included.
I would love to watch fireworks light up the sky while snuggling in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains.
In the spring, I hope to whisk you away to Amsterdam just to see you tiptoe through the tulips.
For our honeymoon (If I may be so bold), I hope to take you to Cinque Terra to hike from one city to the next along the Italian Riviera.

I also dream of flying you to Paris, climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower, sipping a Cappuccino and sharing a Crêpe Jambon Fromage in a sidewalk cafe.
The book ended with these simple words.
"Until then. All my love."
