A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

The First Snow

Yellow Chicken could not believe how lucky he was to have met Fuzzy Duck. He'd heard of other birds meeting & falling in love online but never imagined it could happen to him. Since their first date, they had spent hours talking on the phone, getting to know one another. He counted the hours until he was able to pick Fuzzy Duck up for their 2nd date. When she opened the door he thought to himself, "She's more beautiful each time we meet." He could feel his heart skip faster as he leaned in to kiss her lightly on the cheek. Fuzzy Duck explained she needed to grab her purse & she would be ready to go. Yellow Chicken asked if she would help him decorate his Christmas tree & he would make dinner for them at his place. She excitedly agreed. Off they went to decorate Yellow Chicken's Christmas tree. He knew from seeing Fuzzy Duck's tree she would know how to make his shine. He marvelled at how easy it was to be himself with her.
After decorating his tree, they headed outside to build a snowman. They had so much fun finding things around the house & yard they didn't notice the crowd gathering and watching them.
They were having so much fun laughing & creating their snowman it was hard for others to keep from interrupting and joining them. It was the first snow of the season after all. Even Santa couldn't resist & asked to have his photo taken with them.
The Cardinal family was among those in the crowd & they invited Duck & Chicken to come along for some Christmas caroling. Yellow chicken thought, this evening couldn't possibly get any better than this. At exactly that moment, the snow started to fall.

After caroling, they dined on the Feta Pear Salad & hot Apple Cider Yellow Chicken had prepared for them. He loved cooking for her & seeing her sunny fuzzy face across his table.
Like their first date, the evening flew by much too fast. Yellow Chicken & the Fuzzy Duck walked back to her house wing in wing enjoying the beautiful Christmas lights along the way. Being ever the gentleman, Yellow Chicken asked if he could kiss her good night. She nodded shyly & the two shared a long sweet kiss. Once again, Yellow Chicken found himself floating on air the whole way home.
