A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

Waaaaay Back Wednesday!

I haven't done this in a while and found this picture at my mom's a few weeks ago. It's one of my favorites from my childhood. I was about a year or two old and surrounded by both sets of my grandmothers and great grandmothers. The two on the left are my dad's mom (Mary) and grandmother (Alice). The two on the right are my mom's mom (Terri) and grandmother (Birtha). Both my great grandmothers lived into their 90s. Unfortunately, my mom's mom died when I was about 6 or 7. The three of them were beautiful women. We'll be seeing my grandmother and grandfather on my dad's side next month and I can't wait.

Frizz,

What a picture to treasure. You should do one of those painted frame things I did over the summer with it - it needs a spot of honor.

Oh, how great! I never knew any of my great-grandparents...

Shane's grandparents are very close to our girls. I tell them all the time how blessed and lucky they are to have grandparents and great-grandparents who love them so much!
