The House Suddenly Feels Empty

It's been a busy week and I'm feeling a bit pooped. Bird's parents were visiting from Washington State. We had a good time with them and as usual there was never a dull moment. This is also why I haven't been on line much to post or leave my comment love for y'all. Here's a quick rundown of the week's activities with links and recipes to boot. Tuesday morning, I made the lentil soup recipe to welcome my In-laws to town. I had the picnic table all set and ready when they arrived Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday night, we had both sets of our parents over for dinner. It was such a nice treat to have all 4 grandparents in our house at the same time. Not sure where my brain was but I didn't get a picture of everyone together on camera. Especially one with Yaya. I'm So sad! There's another blonde moment I guess. I made the yummy pork tenderloin from the Kraft link below. I meant to take pics of mine but again completely forgot. Hope this photo in the Kraft link will do. Wednesday, we went to the park and enjoyed a nice picnic under the trees while Yaya played. Bo (Bird's mom) brought home some stock information and taught us how to look up and research stocks that we might want to buy. We chose a few and purchased them Friday morning. We've done quite well with those 2 stocks in the 2 days we've owned them. Who Knew! This was educational and I'll have to say pretty good beginners luck in such a scary time with the stock market. That night my mom watched Yaya and his parents took us out to dinner to our favorite Japanese restaurant, Fats. Friday, we took his parents and Yaya out to Apple Hill. It was a very cool morning in the fields and we even got rained on til noon. After lunch the sun came out and it turned out to be a perfect day and temperature. I made Paula Dean's Bacon and Spinach Quiche for Saturday's breakfast and it seemed to be quite a hit! Why wouldn't it be if it's from Paula Dean?! Here are a few pics from Apple Hill.

Saturday, my mom watched Yaya so we could go to San Francisco with his parents. Didn't know it was Fleet Week. It was insane at Fisherman's Wharf and all over downtown. Instead, we ended up at Golden Gate Park. We enjoyed touring through the Japanese gardens. BEAUTIFUL!!! Here's a few pics of the Garden and of the Blue Angels at Fleet Week.
