My sweet girls,
We live in an area where rain is a rarity. In fact, Little Bird you were 3 years old and when you had your first opportunity to play in the rain and puddles. I think you would agree it was well worth the wait. You didn't hesitate even a second before stomping, splashing and getting completely soaked.
In case you forget, neither of you girls are wearing boots that fit in these photos. Yaya is wearing my boots and Little Bird, you're wearing Yaya's hand me downs. How on earth is that possible? Sigh...Little Bird, I adore this shot of you grinning from ear to ear as Yaya ties your boot for what she feels was the 1000th time. Your'e a little stinker.
Yaya's true personality shines in the photos above and below. In both of them she's caring for you in some big or small way. Below, she's watching you lovingly from afar to keep you safe from harm. It melts my heart to see how much she loves her baby sister.
I find more and more I don't want to fill your days with scheduled activities. I want you to just enjoy being kids. I want to see you use your imaginations and explore your world. You have the rest of your lives for structured classes and schedules.
As for this last photo, it tugs at my heart strings. On one hand, I want to imagine this is you starting off on an amazing childhood adventure. On the other hand, I see how fast you're growing up and how soon you'll be leaving home. Don't believe how fast it goes? The boots you're both wearing say it all! I love you both so much! I want to just hug you forever and never let you go. I tell you this all the time and I pray you believe and feel it in your core.

I taught a friend's son who to jump in rain puddles... with the biggest splash... my friend was like 'THANKS"... now he does it EVERY TIME he sees a puddle :) haha
