A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

A New Year and a New Glance at Life Through My Rearview Mirror

We started 2015 off in the company of friends by taking our girls to the New Year's firework show in our town's local historic district.
It was fun bundling up in coats and mittens for a change while we sharing hot cups of cocoa.  Yaya liked not having to wear her gloves while she held her cocoa.
We were able to take in the last reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas of the season while waiting on the evening's festivities to begin.
I love watching the girl's faces as they listened and watched the buildings and tree light up and sparkle around them as the story was told.
Finally, it was time for the main event to begin. We raced to find the perfect spot along the river's edge.  Bird, did a great job finding us this spot.  It wasn't crowded and the girls could squeal and dance to their hearts content as they watched the show explode in front of them.
It was the perfect end to a wonderful, action packed 2014 and a great way to begin 2015!
