A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

Field Day!

I can't believe it's true. Yaya's first year of kindergarten has officially ended.  She's a 1st grader now!
To celebrate, her class ended the year with a field day full of fun activities.  When I asked Yaya what her favorite activity was she said, "Ummm EVERYTHING!"  They picked up marbles out of a wading pool with their toes.  They used turkey basters to transport water from one bucket to another.  They hoola hooped, played with the parachute and they had fun with the game above.  For the life of me I can't recall what it's called!  Do you?

We're so proud of her and all she has accomplished this year.  Our little girl is reading chapter books and can count above 300.  She's adding, subtracting and writing complete sentences.  She even made a sign for her bedroom door the other day that said, "Do not com in my room. I need privasee."
Funny girl.  I love that we've reached the note on the door stage.  I love everything about this stage of our life.  Life is good!

How fun! I'm glad she enjoyed her year!

I can't remember what the name of that game is either.

Awesome! Can't wait to reach a stage that is more fun than exhausting:) Don't get me wrong...I'm extremely grateful for my 3 blessings...but these stages of little ones (esp. together I think) are wearing me down! But today has been a good day so far...I needed one of these:) Love the post and love hearing all the exciting things Yaya is doing!
