A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

Life Through Yaya's Eyes

Yaya received a kid's camera from her biological grandparents for Christmas.  I'm pretty sure she would say it was one of her favorite gifts because she took pictures with it non-stop for days.  In fact, when she likes something now she'll say, "Where's my camera? I want to take a picture of it." The thing is, I think I might love this gift as much if not more than she does.  After all, I get to share my love of photography with her in a whole new way.  I am thrilled she's enjoying her camera so much.  She takes pictures of EVERYTHING which is wonderful because I get to see life through her eyes.  What an amazing gift for her and for us!  We printed off 20 of her favorite pictures and we're sending them to her birthmom and grandparents as an extra little Thank You.  I also made copies for her and put them in a little pink scrapbook she carries around.

What an amazing gift to see life through Yaya's eyes.

That is so fantastic how she simply took to the camera. I remember doing the same thing for my son....what wonderful memories!

The world looks different through the eyes of a child... its a good reminder to look at it the same way sometimes :)

I'm even more giddy that she's got a Belle dolle in there!!!! :)

Such a lovely gift and I think her pictures are great. We also considered a camera but when I realized her Leappad will have one we left it at that. She has not really explored the camera yet, but has taken many many videos.
