A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

Gotta Love the Tourist Traps

While living in Vegas, Bird and I decided to take a day and do something completely out of our "normal" routine. We decided we would pretend we were tourists for a day. FYI, when you live in Vegas it becomes like any other town. Most people who live in Vegas don't go to the strip unless they're celebrating a special occasion, hosting friends from out of town or attending a conference for work. Anyway, we had this picture taken at the photo hut on the upper level of the Luxor. All I can say is, I only wish I had a body like that! Gotta find the one of Bird as Elvis. The white tux shown here doesn't exactly show off his baby blues or his funny personality.

It's like me when I'm on Oahu and staying in Waikiki. I never head to the shoreline! Too crowded with too many tourists. Still Waikiki is in close proximity to the shopping center so... ;-)

It's good fun to go and do the touristy things sometimes. Because where we live the touristy things are quite family friendly I like to sometimes take the boys and go see some sights. It reminds me why I don't want to do much travelling with kids:)
