A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

It's Official and I'm Ready to Give My 2 Cents!

About a month ago my hubby and I "officially" became residents of California. In doing so, we took the written Driver's test (SCARY STUFF but I beat him so bad! Hee hee hee. Do you remember me telling you how competitive I am with him? OH YEAH! I love to beat him at any and every game.) Anyway, On the back of our applications there was the option to register to vote. I filled it out but hadn't heard or received anything. Hmpf! So, I got on line and looked up my info. The system/Site told me I wasn't recognized. SO NOT COOL! Then, I sent an email to follow up fully believing I wouldn't hear anything back today if at all. Sure enough I did. Not only did I receive 1 email but I received 3 from the same lady following up on my registration. (In CA the 20th is the last day to register to vote.) Here's her last email.
You are registered to vote at the address you listed below.
Olga Torres, __________ County Elections
Look out world! Here I come and I'm ready to make a difference! I have so much to be thankful for and the right to vote is just one more of my many blessings. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers yesterday. I'm looking on the bright side and thinking positive. Now get out there and register before it's too late!
