A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

My Hope Renewed

I don't have to tell you how hard it is to wait and wait and wait. We are all waiting on something or someone.  Today was one of those unbearable days for me though. The gloomy rainy weather wasn't helping matters either.  My heart was breaking and doubt had all but taken over my heart. My hope of ever adopting a second child was fading. FAST.

Then, as I sat in front of my computer feeling sorry for myself the sun began to shine brightly through my window. So bright I felt compelled to go outside and look maybe even take a photo.

As I stepped onto our front porch the rain started to fall with sun shining brightly, happily even through it all.

It was the kind of rain you want to play in.  The kind of rain you want to dance in.  The kind of rain that heals and washes the tired and weary spirit clean and I thought to myself, "There must be a rainbow somewhere around here."

I went back inside the house to get my car keys and the phone began to ring.  I answered it on the first ring and heard Bird's voice on the other end excitedly telling me he was driving directly under a double rainbow on his way home from the gym.  I ran out our back door to look in his direction and sure enough there shining brightly above our home was one very bright rainbow and a faint second rainbow just above it.  They stretched from one side of the sky to the other just as Bird had described.  I took a photo, ran back into the house and hopped into my car. I had to get a picture of them without telephone wires in the way.

Here is a shot as I backed out of our driveway.

I love how the sun reflects on our magnolia tree and the rainbows arch over it and our home.

As I drove down the road and watched in wonder I began to cry.  While the tears fell I began thanking God for getting my attention and pulling me outside to witness His rainbows.  I also thanked him for encouraging Bird to call me.  Between the timing of the sun, the rain and Bird's call there was no doubt He had been trying to get my attention.  I honestly believe he wanted to lift my spirits and renew my hope and faith in His plan for our lives.  I hope in sharing this experience from today your faith is renewed as well.

Romans 15:13 NIV May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I looked and found something after reading your post, Frizzy.

"Like a bow in the clouds on rainy days; that is how the surrounding light appeared. It was something that looked like the glory of God. I looked, and prostrated myself, and I heard a voice speaking. It said ... I am going to speak to you. As he said these words the spirit came into me and made me stand up, and I heard him speaking to me." Ezekiel 1:28-2:2.

The book discusses God's dream for and commissioning of Ezekiel. His words to you of course would be different - reflecting His dream for you and commissioning of you :) .

My sweet sweet friend. How hard it is to wait upon him when we have our own agenda. You are such a testimony to many. This brought tears to my eyes. I know somewhere out there there is a baby for you. He knows too:)
