A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

Family

A few weeks ago my great aunt, Sandy flew into town to surprise her son, Eric for his birthday. He and his family live in San Francisco so we were excited to make the trip to see them. Sandy lives in Minnesota so we don't get to see her often and we weren't going to miss our chance. We had the nicest afternoon with them! They barbecued beer brats with sour kraut. Sandy made her famous potato salad and we had snack foods like chips and a veggie tray. Nothing like comfort food aye? YUMMM! Plus, that meant the kids could have fun and play instead of sitting still in a restaurant.
These two have WAY too much energy to sit still for long!
Sandy was always a fun aunt and it's plain to see she hasn't lost her touch. She had the girl's complete attention just like she always had mine. I recall visiting her as a kid. She had a poodle and she painted it's toe nails. I thought that was the coolest thing EVER! I wanted a poodle because of her.
We decided Pappy might be the biggest kid of all.
There's always time to stop for German chocolate cake.
We can't wait til you return aunt Sandy!

Isn't it great to have such special relatives? There's always one or two in every family who are especially wonderful.
