A little about me and my family...

My photo
My love of people, photography and the world began as a child. My family moved a lot and taking pictures was my way of remembering friends, capturing special places or moments and holding them close. Becoming a wife and a mother has always been a dream of mine and I count my blessings daily. I started this blog shortly after our daughter, Yaya joined our family through the blessing of adoption. Its purpose was to share pictures and stories about our life with family and friends. Later, it shared our adoption journey to our second daughter, Baby Bird as well. Now that our family is complete I like to think of it as our family’s journal or life book. I'm passionate about life, my family and preserving our history one snapshot at a time. The thing that amazes me most is the abundance of beauty God blesses us with every day and in the simplest ways if only we take the time to slow down and appreciate them.

5 Senses

Betty shared this today and I enjoyed her answers so much I decided to play along myself! I am to list 4 things I love, and one thing I hate, for each category. Then tag 5 people; having them do the same.
Smell
1. The smell of my husband and daughter!
2. Onions and garlic cooking on the stove or bread/cake/brownies in the oven.
3. Lilacs, Lavender, Rosemary and Jasmine
4. Italian Espresso bars!
5. Hate: dirty diapers, cat litter, cat urine or smoke
Touch
1. Running my fingers through my dog Ellie's soft fur.
2. My daughter's cheek against mine.
3. Rubbing a piece of fabric between my fingers. (I've done this since I was an infant and still do it to this day. Most of the time I don't even realize it.)
4. Having my hair brushed by someone else.
5. Hate: Fish or anything slimy
Sound
1. My husband or daughter breathing as they sleep or their laughter or singing as they play together.
2. Rain pitter pattering on the roof or window.
3. The sound of Italian church bells ringing out the time.
4. Music
5. Hate: My dog Ellie's nervous growl.
Taste
1. Ripe fruit. Especially peaches!
2. The perfect glass of Merlot.
3. Amatriciana
4. Dark Chocolate
5. Hate: Fishy tasting food.
Sight
1. My husband and/or daughter's smile.
2. Sunsets in Wyoming, Capri and Mykonos.
3. Letters in the mail or comments on my blog.
4. Paris and Venice. I cried the first time I saw the Eiffel Tower and was overwhelmed with a sense of adventure each time walked out of Venice's Santa Lucia train station and saw the canal. 5. Hate: dirty dishes laying in the sink or on the counter
I wasn't tagged so I won't be tagging anyone. However, if you decide to play along I would love it if you would tell me so I can read your answers too.

Loved your answers and I haven't posted yet today, my friend, since I was gone most of yesterday. I'm playing catch up but would love to get this up and posted for this afternoon.

Happy Tuesday, sweet friend.

I didn't play along -- haven't had much time! Hope all is well. We are doing great over here can't wait until the summer we I have more time to catch up with everyone. School has been a little crazy this year.

I love having my hair brushed too!

Thanks for the FB comment. Nothing in particular wrong, just seems nothing is going right either. One of these days things will fall into place, right??
